Hansjoerg Dobliar received the Bayerischer Kunstförderpreis (Staatsförderpreis) in 2003. The artist lives and works in Munich and Berlin.
Hysterie und Abstraktion ['Hysteria and Abstraction'] is the title of Hansjoerg Dobliar's (1970, Ulm, DE) first solo presentation at AKINCI. By using this title to announce his exhibition, the artist is clearly stating that his works are abstract. However, there is far more to this than first meets the eye. Abstraction's history within modern art goes back a long way. In determining where it begins, one is soon confronted with a plethora of interpretations consisting of divergent opinions and often contradictory approaches as to how form, colour and line can be used to create a composition existing independent of reference to reality.
