Presented in French and English, Sentimental creates a dialogue that reflects upon Ali Kazma’s work of the same name. With an introduction by Bjorn Dahlstrom, Director of the NMNM, the book comprises an essay by Nilufer Sasmazer followed by an interview between Ali Kazma and Guillaume de Sardes. The book explores video in relation to Kazma’s work, mediating upon the temporal and visual qualities which have allowed video to become a democratised media which can authentically capture the world around us. This book documents previously unseen works of Kazma and was published on the occasion of an exhibition at Nouveau Musee National de Monaco (NMNM).
