Jaap van den Ende

The work of Delft artist Jaap van de Ende (1944) has its roots in the systemic art of the 1960s. After this initial period he followed a very personal path, but he has always remained a systematically rational artist. In his latest series of paintings (1977-present), constructed abstraction meets almost photographic figuration. His way of looking and discovering features of form and order produces unique paintings made with great concentration and skill. In addition to his own lucid theoretical text on content and working methods, this book offers a colourful visual account of Jaap van den Ende’s world.
